This policy explains what information Yokai Almanac collects when you read the site, who else receives it, and how to opt out.

What we ask you for
Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter, and no comments. We never ask you for your name, email address, or payment details, and there is nothing on this site that lets you submit them to us.
If you choose to email us, we receive whatever you put in that email and keep it only for as long as it takes to reply.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and roughly where they arrive from. It sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the site or search that referred you. We use this only in aggregate; we do not try to identify individual readers.
You can opt out for every site at once with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Advertising
Where advertising is shown on this site, it is served by third-party vendors including Google. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info.
- Third-party vendors set their own cookies, which this site does not control. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any advertising or analytics cookies that require it are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links to books are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you buy through them — at no extra cost to you. Following one of these links takes you to the retailer, who will handle your data under their own privacy policy. We only recommend books we would recommend anyway; a commission never buys a place on the list.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by a third-party hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security and reliability. These logs are not used to build reader profiles.
Children
This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
